The Tough-Core is solid natural rubber all the way through, no hollow shell to crack, no squeaker to surgically remove on day two. It bounces high and true off grass, sand, and driveway, and the slightly tacky surface gives soft-mouthed retrievers and grabby goofballs alike something to hold onto.

Sizing matters more with balls than with almost any other toy, because a ball your dog can fully fit in their mouth is a hazard, not a toy. Go by weight: M (2.5 in) for dogs roughly 15-40 lb, L (3 in) for dogs 40 lb and up. Between sizes? Go up, a slightly-too-big ball is a minor inconvenience, a too-small ball is a real risk. These are fetch toys rated for light-to-moderate chewing during play, not all-day gnawing; if your dog is a dedicated power chewer, hand them a properly sized chew from our chew-toys department and keep these for the game.
